EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels)

Which is the better value, the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels) or the DELTA 2 Max?

The DELTA 2 Max gives more energy per dollar: 1.99 Wh/$, against 1.58 Wh/$ for the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels). Both hold 2048 Wh, so energy per dollar differs only because of the prices below. The DELTA 2 Max costs $1,029.00 at EcoFlow, while the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels) costs $1,299.00 there.

Energy per dollar only tells part of the story, because charging speed and weight also shape how a station fits your plans. On those points the DELTA 2 Max takes solar input up to 1000 W, and the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels) weighs less at 44.8 lb against 50.7 lb.

Do they differ on battery size and AC output?

No, EcoFlow rates the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels) and the DELTA 2 Max alike, at 2400 W of continuous AC output with surges up to 4800 W. Surge ratings matter for motors and compressors, which pull extra power for a moment when they start. Each one lands in the group with 2000 W or more of continuous AC output.

Both use LFP cells. EcoFlow lists the same discharge range on each, from -10 °C up to 45 °C.

Which one refills faster from solar?

The DELTA 2 Max has the higher solar input limit, 1000 W against 500 W on the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels). The DELTA 2 Max has 2 ports for solar. In the best case, the fastest full refill at maximum solar input works out to about 2.0 hours on the DELTA 2 Max and about 4.1 hours on the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels), before any losses.

Both use an xt60i connector. Each lists a 60 V maximum input and an 11 V MPPT minimum. Input current is capped at 13 A on the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels) and 15 A per solar input on the DELTA 2 Max.

If you plan to charge mostly from panels, compare the solar input limit first.

How heavy is each one to move?

The DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels) is lighter at 44.8 lb against 50.7 lb. The DELTA 2 Max falls in the heavy (over 50 lb) class, and it measures 19.6 in long, 9.5 in wide and 12 in high.

If you move a station often, check its weight as well as its capacity.

  1. DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels)44.8 lb
  2. DELTA 2 Max50.7 lb
Weight as the makers list it, lightest first. A shorter bar is lighter.

What about outlets, extra batteries and outages?

The DELTA 2 Max can add batteries and has 6 AC outlets. It adds 4 USB-A ports, 2 USB-C ports and 1 car port. And yes, it connects to an app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

This comparison does not cover outlet count, UPS switchover time or battery expansion for the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels). Count how many devices you need to plug in at the same time before you compare outlet counts. Both support pass-through charging: the answer is yes on each.

For the DELTA 2 Max, the UPS switchover speed is 20 ms or less. Switchover speed matters for gear that restarts when power drops.

How do the warranty and cold-weather charging compare?

EcoFlow lists 5 years for the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels), that is 3 years as standard, plus 2 more when you register it in the EcoFlow app. The DELTA 2 Max is also listed at 5 years. The DELTA 2 Max does not charge below 0 °C.

EcoFlow gives its charging range as 0 °C to 45 °C, while its discharge range runs down to -10 °C. This comparison does not cover the charging range of the DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels). Cold weather limits when a station can charge, so check the charging range before a winter trip.

How do they differ in price, solar input and weight?

The DELTA 2 Max costs less at $1,029.00 against $1,299.00 and takes solar input up to 1000 W. On top of that, it can add batteries.

The DELTA 3 Max (Detachable Wheels) weighs less at 44.8 lb against 50.7 lb. Whichever side you choose, add up the running watts of the devices you need at once and keep them under the continuous output rating.
