The Explorer 2000 v2 stores 2,042 Wh and supplies 2,200 W of normal AC power. Its biggest strength is simple: it gives you much more run time than a 1 kWh station without becoming a huge, hard-to-move box.

What does 2,042 Wh mean in real use?

The Explorer 2000 v2 stores almost twice the energy of a 1,024 Wh power station. That extra battery matters when an outage lasts for hours instead of minutes.

Here is simple math. A device using exactly 100 W would use 100 Wh each hour. A 2,042 Wh battery could cover about 20 hours before power losses. A 500 W load would use the battery in about four hours before losses. A 1,000 W load would use it in about two hours before losses.

Real run time will be lower. The inverter uses some energy. Refrigerators turn on and off. Pumps, compressors, and tools can draw extra power when they start. Weather and battery temperature also matter.

This size is useful for a refrigerator or freezer, internet gear, lights, TVs, laptops, RV loads, a CPAP machine, or short use of larger appliances. It can also give you more time between charges when the grid is down.

How much power can it supply at once?

Jackery lists 2,200 W of normal AC output. That is enough for many household devices and gives more headroom than common 1,800 W stations.

Jackery also lists a 4,400 W surge peak. Surge power is a short burst that can help some motors and compressors start. It does not mean the unit can supply 4,400 W all day.

Use the 2,200 W normal rating for steady loads. Check the labels on heaters, microwaves, coffee makers, pumps, power tools, air conditioners, and other heavy devices before plugging them in.

Charging: wall charging is the strong side.

Jackery lists a 1.7-hour Emergency Super Charge for the Explorer 2000 v2. Actual time can vary with temperature, battery level, and charging conditions, but the wall-charging system is clearly designed to refill a large battery quickly.

Solar input is up to 400 W across the two DC input ports. That is the more important limit to think about if you plan to live from solar during an outage or while camping off-grid.

A 2,042 Wh battery is large. Even if panels could hold the full 400 W input all day, simple math would still take more than five hours before charging losses. Real solar output rises and falls with clouds, shade, heat, sun angle, and panel voltage, so real charging can take much longer.

If solar is your main refill method, compare the Explorer 2000 v2 with other 2 kWh stations that accept more solar. If you mostly refill from a wall outlet, the 400 W solar limit may matter much less.

Current prices: the same product can cost very different amounts.

At the latest SGS price check on September 16, 2026, we found the Explorer 2000 v2 at $799 from ShopSolar, $899 from Off Grid Source, and $999 from Jackery.

That is a $200 item-price spread for the same model. Shipping was not confirmed for every offer, so the lowest item price is not automatically the lowest delivered price. Still, the spread shows why comparing more than one store matters.

At $799, the 2,042 Wh battery works out to about 2.56 Wh for each dollar. At $999, the same battery works out to about 2.04 Wh per dollar. The hardware did not change. Only the store price changed.

Portability: light for 2 kWh, but still heavy.

Jackery lists the Explorer 2000 v2 at 17.9 kg, or about 39.5 lb. That is a lot lighter than many large backup batteries, but it is not something everyone will want to carry often.

The weight makes more sense when you remember the battery size. It stores 2,042 Wh. Compared with a 1 kWh station, you are carrying more battery because you are buying more run time.

If the unit will move between a house, RV, truck, or campsite, try to picture a 40 lb lift before you buy. If it will mostly sit in one place, battery size may matter more than weight.

It makes the most sense if:
