What should you check before buying a high capacity power station?

Start with the battery size you need, then compare watt-hours per dollar. If the unit will move between rooms or into a truck, look at weight and whether it has wheels. Plan how you will charge it, since solar input and wall input set how quickly a large battery refills.

For backup use, compare the listed UPS switchover time and check for pass-through charging. Check the charging temperature range if the unit will sit in a cold garage or shed. If you think your needs may grow, look for battery expansion.
